Language in the Third Millennium XI: Language in the Social Semiotic

This was the first truly international edition of the conference. The presentations were in English and Polish. Due to the pandemic situation the conference was held online.

The thematic scope of the conference covered a wide spectrum of issues that share a non-hermetic approach to the study of linguistic communication, ranging from the analysis of the verbal and non-verbal linguistic sign to the relationship of word and image to conversational analysis to critical analysis of multimedia, multimodal and intercultural. discourse.

Guest speakers

We hosted eminent, internationally renowned plenary scholars:
Professor Michał Krzyżanowski (Uppsala University, Sweden)
Professor Zoltán Kövecses (Budapest University, Hungary)
and Professor Konrad Dominas (Poznań University, Poland).
The conference also featured a knowledge contest about Kraków, sponsored by the City of Kraków.
