The thematic scope of the conference covered a wide spectrum of issues that share a non-hermetic approach to the study of linguistic communication, ranging from the analysis of the verbal and non-verbal linguistic sign to the relationship of word and image to conversational analysis to critical analysis of multimedia, multimodal and intercultural. discourse.

Professor Zoltán Kövecses (Budapest University, Hungary)
and Professor Konrad Dominas (Poznań University, Poland).
The conference also featured a knowledge contest about Kraków, sponsored by the City of Kraków.
The conference was organised by Krakow Tertium Society in cooperation with the Institute of English Studies of the Jagiellonian University, and the Pedagogical University of Krakow.
