Journal description

Our journal offers authors and readers a research scope that reflects the thematic range of the Tertium conferences and other publications. The Tertium statutory aim has always highlighted openness to various theoretical approaches and to perspectives typical of individual modern language studies. We are interested primarily in synchronic studies of language and a broadly understood socio-cognitive approach to language research, including cognitive linguistics, pragmalinguistic research and anthropological linguistics.

Articles

The journal publishes articles in six thematic sections:

  • contextual linguistics
    (especially linguistic pragmatics
    and cognitive linguistics)
  • varieties and registers of Polish
  • translation studies
  • intercultural communication
  • anthropological linguistics
  • językoznawstwo stosowane

We welcome original articles, written in Polish or English (a full article is expected to have at least 6000 words, i.e. about 10 pages, the maximum is usually 8000 words, but there is no hard upper limit).

We are also willing to publish research notes by PhD students.

We encourage all Tertium Society members and all scholars interested in the listed and related fields to submit articles.

We publish articles free of charge. All articles are subject to a strict double blind review procedure. We are happy to answer any queries at: tlj@journal.tertium.edu.pl.
